Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is launching new software that will help organise cluttered inboxes in the Outlook email client.
The programme, named Filer, memorises the sorting or filing habits of users and then predicts which folder emails can be moved to.
The software is being marketed by Xiant, a unit of Mr Allen's Vulcan Technologies. A free test version is available for 60 days.
Mr Allen came up with the idea of the programme himself after struggling to organise the flood of emails he received every day. Engineers at his firm were asked to design the software according to his specifications.
The result was so successful that the billionaire decided to market the product commercially.
Filer is currently available only for Outlook 2007 running on Windows XP or Windows Vista. The company says it will soon launch the software for Outlook 2003.
