A new online video service which lets internet users watch their favourite TV channels on their computer, including premium sports channels, has been launched.
Sky Player TV will offer customers channels including Disney, MTV, National Geographic and Sky Sports, for prices ranging from £15 to £34 a month - up to £20 cheaper than the current satellite Sky TV service.
The plans for the new service were announced in November, but it is only now that BSkyB has revealed what channels, specifically the sports channels, will be available.
Mike Darcey, the chief operating officer at BSkyB, said: "Sky Player TV recognises that for some, the computer screen is now the preferred screen through which to watch TV.
"In developing a standalone subscription to a secure online platform, we are responding to the diverse needs of today's consumers."
Sky Player TV offers customers a choice of three packages, with the basic package costing just £15 per month. To be able to watch all three Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports News, will cost internet users £34 per month.
