Activision Publishing has announced the launch of the latest version of its Little League video game for Wii and Nintendo DS.
The Little League World Series Baseball 2009, developed by Japanese software firm Now Production, claims to be an improvement on its 2008 predecessor.
Players will have the chance to become a Little League World Series baseball champion, or play with up to three other friends in a variety of exhibition and skill modes.
The "E" rated videogame bundles up a series of fresh features, including new Power-ups that would boost players with special abilities, more customisable traits to edit players and teams, and regional tournaments along with the World Series games.
It also sports nine real world stadiums, including Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, unlockable player cards for more strategic gameplay, while legendary announcers Gary Thorne and Brent Musberger calling on all the play-by-play action.
Little League 2009 is on offer for £24.37 ($39.99) for Wii and £12.18 ($19.99) for Nintendo DS.
Activision Publishing's David Oxford said: "Little League World Series Baseball 2009 offers the baseball participants and enthusiasts a competitively fun experience for the whole family while respecting the game's tradition."
